Wastefree Mail (Expected launch 2012)
• Provide a vehicle for institutions to identify mailers with outdated lists;
• Establish links between mailing and electronic addresses; and
• Offer recipients the option to convert from hard copy to electronic transmission.

Waste Free Mail serves as a forum to educate and inform consumers about best practices in the area of paper waste reduction. Through this site, consumers are motivated to action and partner with us to help create change.

This service provides a vehicle for Institutional Mail Centers to report wasteful mailers. The online tool allows institutions to report mailers that send in poorly-addressed mail. It captures data (e.g., mail type, recycled count, image) on that particular mailing.

Planned for 2012, Waste Free Mail 2.0 (WFM 2.0) will change the way organizations process mail. WFM 2.0 is being designed to significantly change the way mail centers operate today as well as increase the rate at which mailers communicate to recipients. IMN will convert physical addresses to electronic addresses that will feature a virtual mailbox. An intended recipient for hard copy via regular mail will be first notified through their virtual mailbox. The electronic notification will offer various options such as recycle, download, forward, view, or request hard copy. A visual "green score card" will allow the recipient to track their open and delete rate. If the email is not opened within a certain period of time, the hard copy will be sent to the physical mailbox.
